Tekirdağ Municipality Building and Urban Square Design
Tekirdağ is a city in the Thracian side of Turkey, looking for the opportunity for new developments to grow. One way to spearhead this is by creating a new Municipality building to promote city expansion around it. The design of this new center involves fragmenting heavy clusters of municipality program and allocating them into a collection of public functions on a newly organized public square. This is done to hybridize both built and natural environments, public and private uses. This hybridization also exists within the buildings as green space tears into the building facades.
