Sivas Kızılırmak BridgeThe project aims to provide a crossing point along the Kızılırmak River which will connect the center of Sivas with the Cumhuriyet University that sits at the periphery of the city. The project area sits in the center of a potential city park, so the bridge also requires that it becomes part of the recreational area. The concept of the bridge is derived from 3 main principles:
1)That the view of the river not be blocked by structural columns.
2)That pedestrians not walk side by side next to a busy highway.
3)That the bridge avoid the darkness and heaviness that involves traditional transport viaducts.
Following these parametrics in both geometry and structure resulted with a bridge that stretches across the river and brings the city and the university closer together.
