Seoul Photographic Art Museum

ENG / “Were it not for shadows, there would be no beauty.”
― Jun'ichirō Tanizaki, In Praise of Shadows

PAM is designed basically with three terms which are both common in architecture and photography; light, volume, shadow. The mass is perceived from boulevard with its large disintegrated volumes which also creates deep volumetric openness vertically and horizontally.
Museum is located between Seoul 50 Plus Start-up Campus and Robot Science Museum. Being aware of pedestrian flow on the boulevard, entrance plaza is designed largely to welcome and give a silent moment to public.
