Open - Source Architecture "The Cube" - Int. Antalya Architecture Biennial

The socio-spatial environment is hierarchically pre-determined, constructed, and operated; subordinating if not excluding the agency of the user. Is it possible to confront and overcome this structural problem instead of ignoring and even exploiting it ? Is it possible to imagine an open-source architecture defined adaptively by ever-changing social dynamics, and co-utilized horizontally by users, architects, and other spatial actors in a participative and mercurial manner?

ABOUTBLANK' s first open-source architectural experiment is the Cube which, 1) defies the logic of pre-determined function, allowing the users to activate the Cubes according to their needs and desires, 2) defies the logic of pre-determined static condition, allowing the users to move, relocate, and displace the Cubes as mobile containers, 3) defies the logic of pre- determined authoritarian organization of architectural profession, allowing the users to get rid of their subordinate position and empower themselves as egalitarian spatial actors.
