Eskişehir Odunpazarı: Green Loop

An industrial zone in Odunpazarı, Eskişehir has been planned to be decentralized by the local municipality to maintain a new development area for the city. Project aims to create a well-stitched new neighborhood to the existing surrounding urban texture by keeping and continuing the remarkable axes on the zone. After stitching the zone in the east-west direction, the new emerged narrow plots turned into very dense urban forests in order to give this former industrial zone a new identity. For the social and open air recreational needs of both the new residents and the former residents around this new neighborhood, there is a green loop which intersects all of the new plots. This loop contains various landscape designs, social functions, sports fields and cultural functions. On the north edge the the existing canal widens and creates a center for retail and accommodation facilities including a designed bridge, an island and a lake.
