“Ecological Design” - XXI Magazine Discussion
The discussion is about the future of ecological design and sustainability in local and global milieus. G.Kodalak in brief, puts forward a new theoretical framework named Artificial Ecology that calls for;(1) the desertion of romantic, spiritual and neo-conservationist Nostalgic Ecology, that pursues to restore the so called lost balanced, harmonious and unified Mother Nature;
(2) the desertion of Market Ecology that exploits the sympathetic faces of ecology and sustainability and uses them as new legitimacy and domination instruments;
(3) the promotion of Realist Ecology, which pursues to discuss the ecological milieu under analytic and dynamic networks from global to continental, national to urban, professional to individual scales and to form periodical common consensuses along the process and
(4) the promotion of Fringe-Spaces, Artificial-Ecological-Niches and Cüruf-Spaces, that is to say the hybridization of metropolitan, urban and industrial habitat with all their ingredients without discrimination, with the ecological milieu in their own specific conditions without being sterilized, stabilized and disconnected from their own production capabilities.
