Dolapdere Housing The Dolapdere neighborhood in İstanbul is currently going through a phase of urban gentrification due to is proximity to Taksim Square and its accessibility to the highway. The aim of this project was to provide a set of diverse living spaces within a predominately non-residential neighborhood. This is achieved by cracking a linear housing block into several pieces, which in turn creates various chance meeting places between stacked masses of apartment typologies. The base of the project is used mostly for retail, with its roof providing residents with social functions such as a pool surrounded by gardens.
