Bishkek FUTURE CITYENG / Bishkek City is a new master-planned community in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, that is being planned to become a hub for the sustainable economic development of the country and the other nations in Central Asia; as well as a model for the human-centered urban habitat of the future. The Project aims to create a model and a lab of Livable Urban Environment for the region through new urbanism principles and with the guidance of UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals and Sustainable/Regenerative Development philosophy and Circular Economy principles. The main objective of the Project is Human Development which can be briefly defined as improving people’s well-being and enlarging their opportunities. It is about asking “how people are doing” rather than “how the economy is doing” while it also has economic aspects along with social aspects.
