Ankara Hasanoğlan Institute Renovation - Human Factory
The Project can be seen as an experiment for a new education model. the Project builds itself through time phases between the start line on the east side and the finish line on the west. Through this construction process (where construction and deconstruction do not have an ending time) the buildings, the functions and the individuals are produced. The products which are produced here are aimed to be, "producing products".Phasing starts with the construction. In order to start the education and the production, the minimum construction needed, is constructed by the institute volunteers. Then comes the economical setup, which consists of product production and value production. After the economical setup is stabilized, the arts and the cultural layer is added to the project, so as to follow the hybridizations among these layers and their reflactions on education.
This education model makes it possible for a student to follow a linear route with no turning points and study on a mono educational course (which will -no doubt- be demanded with big numbers). But it also makes it possible for a student to take the turning points in his/her education, and experience an interdisciplinary education where he can decide the duration of his/her educational courses him/herself. Therefore, the model deconstructs and inverts the system of the start and finish lines and their deterministic use, and emphasizes on the process of education itself with its hybrid and interdisciplinary setup.
